Daru will be holding his monthly dinner early (December 2nd at 6pm) due to the end of the school year and subsequent holidays. He will not be holding dinner in January. Look for our next meeting time sometime in late January!

The Tallahassee Vegetarian Community is having a vegetarian dinner September 9th from 6 to 8pm. There will be vegan options.

Dinner at Daru’s is early this month. Daru will be serving dinner this week from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday. Since there were two dinners in a row scheduled (last week and this week), we’ll take a break from scheduling events for a few weeks.

Every Thursday, local vegan bakery/caterer Eclectic Eatz will be serving lunch outside of Free Radicals from 11:30am-2:00pm. The menu will be different every week. For more info, a link to one of their previous events is http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=149376225777 .

Soul Vegetarian has a new lunch location. They are on South Adams Street, just past the train tracks heading south from the capitol. They have two separate locations, one for lunch and one for dinner in the downtown/FSU campus area. Check out their Facebook group at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=12413803091 .

If you are a new member, you should check out the vegetarian lunch on campus. Daru serves vegetarian lunch on the FSU campus Monday through Friday 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at the International Center (white building in between the Leach Center and the Student Life Building, bottom floor).

Our next event will probably be a vegan potluck with VERDE at the end of October.

TalVeg is holding their next vegetarian dinner party at a great
Mediterranean restaurant. They have tons of vegetarian options. The
falafel pita is amazing. They have a variety of tofu dishes including
a very tasty tofu teriyaki hoagie. They have several salads and other
dishes with a vegetarian option. Several of these dishes are vegan
friendly. There is parking behind the building in addition to next
door by Target Copy and the new Donut shop. Typical menu item is about
$5 dollars. Combo meals with a side/dessert and drink are $6-8.

We’re going to try to make the dinner only one hour so we can get more
people together at the same time (and so that people don’t feel
obligated to stay for two hours). Hope to see you there!

We will be having our first meeting of the Fall ’09 school year at One Fresh Stir Fry on Monroe Street. If you haven’t been to this place, then you have been missing out! They provide amazing, cooked-to-order stir fry, soups, salads, and spring rolls. The teriyaki tofu stir fry is to die for! This is an “order at the counter and sit down” place, so drinks and cleanup are self-serve. We will have a few tables put together for our group. The tofu as well as most of the stir fry sauces are vegan. Please inquire at the phone number below about individual soup, salads or other dishes.
